Does this make sense?

I wrote this for my teacher. It is my summer plan.

Hello. I will soon have my first car. I am expecting to pass my driving test very shortly. My plan is to drive - by myself - from my town in Burton, England, to Stockholm Central Station in Sweden. I have a route to follow. However, I have not come to you asking for a route. I have come here asking what you think of my decision to drive - rather than fly / train. I do enjoy driving and this route allows me to get to the nitty gritty of European Landscapes. It is an opportunity to see Europe as well as an exercise in driving. Once in Stockholm, my aim is to play my violin on the city streets - to earn back the money I will have spent in fuel costs - and drive back home after having busked on the streets for a few weeks. I play the violin to a high standard and have made a lot of money busking in London this year. I wonder if Swedish people will be as compassionate and generous as the English - especially given the begging crises in Stockholm! I shall have to wait and see what this journey has it store for me!

Does it all make sense? How would you improve it?
