Does this make sense? Is it correct?
My landline rings where ever the phone is, not at the base. If the phone isn't on the base it'll ring where it is.

Receiver in place of phone is probably more precise. I didn't know this was possible. (After all, I'm one of the three people on the planet that still has neither a cell phone nor a "portable" receiver.)
