Does this make sense?



Four people saw the accident, but not one of them said they would be a witness for me in court.

I agree with Dave.
Your version is perfectly natural, but it sounds a bit angry. If that's what you want, then use it. If you're trying to make friends with the authorities, perhaps it's better to go easy.

Sometimes witnesses pay a heavy price for their "public service."
