I was reading an article about Hong Kong's upcoming by-election when I came across this piece
'In a speech to the Foreign Correspondents' Club in Hong Kong on Nov. 15, Ip pronounced herself to be a true democrate at heart. But she did admit to nostalgic longings for the "simpler" days under London's rule, when governors were autocrats and the bureaucracy reined unfettered. That is a view that would find a lot of sympathy in government House in Hong Kong and on Politburo in Beijing.'
The last sentence especially doesn't seem grammatically sound. Then again I'm just an English novice..;;;
Thanx ^^
Top answer
The last sentence is fine. Democrat is spelt thus. Government should be capitalized.
