Does this count as a "bon mot"?

Hi guys, I understand that "bon mot" usually refers to a pithy, one-word response, but can a pop-culture reference also be considered a "bon mot"?

Example:

PERSON A: Guess my age
PERSON B: 25
PERSON A: Ten points to Gryffindor!

Does Person A's reference to Harry Potter qualify as a "bon mot"?

Hi, A bon mot does not have to be just one word, and usually is not. But it is usually not long. A bon mot has to be very witty, and I cannot imagine one that is not original.

  • Sorry, but your example seems to me neither witty nor original.

The following might be considered more like a "bon mot":

A: How old are you?
B: 25.
A: Your age, not your IQ.
