Does this conversation work?

Hi teachers. A guy has been writing on a book for a very long time and he can't finish it and it's driving him insane. He's spending all his time on it, in his small apartment. A female friend of his visits him because she's worried about him. They have this conversation. Please tell me if it's perfectly correct and if it works very well. Thank you in advance.

Friend: Don't you think a little distraction might be good for you?

Writer: I don't know.

Friend: OK, but just let me know if you want to do something sometime.

Writer: You have anything in mind?

Friend: No, I just think you need to get out of your apartment, because this is not healthy. I'm worried about you.

The red part does not make sense. You should remove it.
