Does the sentence have a grammar problem?

Since the list came mostly from ancient Greek writings, though, only sites that would have been known to the ancient Greeks were included.

In my opinion, having both "Since" and "though" is redundant.

If you omit "Since," then you need a "so": "... writings though, so only site..."

But I would omit the "though."
