Does the placement of "after all" change the meaning of a sentence?

Does the placement of "after all" change the meaning of a sentence? As in this example:

After all, she is Australian.
She is Australian after all.

Also, does there need to be a comma in the first sentence and the one in the second be omitted?

Top answer

I feel no difference in meaning. I would use a comma in the first. I probably wouldn't use one in the second.
