Does that quote make sense?

Hi,

Does that quote make sense?

"We went on a mission and we suffered …we want our rights; we should have a special status because when the MOE sent us to the UK they thought we were the best. We left our families and our work and now we have come back exactly as we traveled…"

Thanks

Not much, really. It sounds incohesive. The first part is understandable, but the phrase "we have come back exactly as we traveled" sounds strange.

Thanks very much. Maybe because It's translated from Arabic. The meaning is that they came back from the UK with the same knowledge they carried when they traveled.

To be back at square one means "to start over again." In your case it is a suitable idiom.
