Does "show no awareness on the part of the author" mean...?

Does "show no awareness on the part of the author" mean "show that the author himself was not aware of"?

Context:

The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistles_of_Paul, which were written before the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospels, show no awareness on the part of the author that Jesus was supposed to have been a human being who recently lived. Paul mentions only the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crucifixion, the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resurrection_of_Jesus and the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascension_of_Jesus_Christ and presents them as having occurred in a mythic realm rather than an earthly one.
