Does or did?

I came across the following question in my child's Grade 1 comprehension exercise:

"How does she feel after her mother cleaned her wounds?"

In the exercise, the beginning of the answer is provided ("She feels") and the student is required to feel in the rest of the answer.

Is the above question correct? It seems weird to me; shouldn't it begin with "How did she feel" instead of "How does she feel" since the question is asking about something that has already occurred (the mother having cleaned the wounds)?

The present tense is often used in questions on written passage/bookss, even when the past tense is used in th passage/book itself. How does Elizabeth Bennet feels when she learns of Wickham's behavior? How does Judas betray Jesus?

Thank you for your comment, fivejedjon.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using present tense in questions. However, in my example, the question started with a present tense but went on to use the past tense to describe an event that has already occurred.

In this case, shouldn't the question start off with 'did' as the latter part of the question is in the past tense?

It would be better if we used 'did...cleaned' or 'does...has cleaned'.
