Hi,

So it's what we'd call a mandatory rather than an optional invitation to a working breakfast? That doesn't sound much like a token of appreciation to me. It sounds a bit like working overtime.

Hi Clive,

Well, you know, it's one of those meeting breakfast. Meeting is mandatory, but the breakfast is out of convenience. Killing two birds with one stone. Thanks for the honesty. I can't think of any other way to write the announcement.

How about "The PAO staff meeting will be on [Monday] at the IHOP, starting promptly at [8] a.m. As a token of appreciation for your hard work, Jackie will be treating the team to breakfast."
