Does my sentence make sense?

Talking about genetically modified foods, I've written this sentence:

Companies can make huge profits by selling GM seeds in high price and making us buy drugs (or medicine?) we might have never needed.

Is that clear?

Thank you in advance.

Companies can make huge profits by selling GM seeds AT A high price and making us buy drugs we OTHERWISE might have never THOUGHT we needed. I suggested adding the word Thought because your sentence implied that once the drugs were there, we actually really started needing them, while in fact we were only under the delusion of their indispesnability. Also, one could argue that your sentence half-implies that the second part is a result of the first, that is, that seeds in some way make us buy drugs we don't need....

  • This potential confusion could be avoided thus: Companies can make huge profits in two ways, namely, by selling GM seeds AT A high price and by making us buy drugs we OTHERWISE might have never THOUGHT we needed.
