I've heard it all my life. Perhaps, conversationally, it would be more common among old farts like myself; but in formal usage it's quite common. Google - "make every effort to" 5,050,000 "makes" 952,000 "made" 815,000

They are all natural. Except for the literal differences (between trying and doing, for example), the only real difference is register. I've given register estimates below. These are my estimates. Other speakers may have different estimates. There is no science involved in it.

See .
try as hard as possible 1.9
do all you can 2.2

try your best 2.4
do your best

Hi, thank you very much for the reply, CJ.
Could you explain what 'taken into the court' mean and what does the number mean like 1.9, 2.2 etc.?

And what do you mean by 'register' here?

Thanks a lot.

I would estimate that it's about the same as for 'make an effort' (about 2.6).

It's somewhat middle-of-the-road to my ear -- neither very formal nor very informal.
