Does it sound native-like to you no.4?

Dear All,

Do these sentences sound natural enough to you?
  • (on the phone) A: What time will you be here? B: Well, if the cabby steps on (it???) I should get there in 5 minutes.
  • (on the phone) A: What time will you be here? B: Well, if the cabby finally decides to step on (it???) then I'll be there in 5 minutes.
Would you change anything? Are both of them equally fine? Is there any difference in meaning between them?

Thanks
