Does it really matter ? Is it wrong ? Mistake ?

Hi !

I'm just wondering that does it really matter and is it a big mistake if I used s and of genitives in "wrong" places.
I mean that isn't s usually used when we are talking about people and of when we are talking about things ?
Would it be a big mistake if I said:
"Car's headlights are broken" instead of "Headlights of the car are broken"
or:
The motorbike of the police is beautiful" instead of "Police's motorbike is beautiful"

  • This is a complicated and difficult aspect of grammar.
  • I'd say that most people simply learn it by reading a lot and listening to native speech a lot.
