Does it make u sound foreign if you don't use tones.

When I read something aloud I never use innotation and tone. Does it make me sound foreign? But I do use innonation when I speak.

Do native speakers use tones or emotions when they are told to read aloud in class?

When I read aloud, the stress is right but the thing that is missing is the tone and innotation which makes me sounds lack of emotion when reading. Compared to the recording.
