Does it make sense to say: praise or criticize your job?

To praise means to say something good. To criticize means to say something bad.

I think they are antonyms. I am going to make up two sentences below.

(1) If John doesn't like his job and he always says bad things about it, can you say:

John criticizes his job a lot.

(2) If John likes his job very much and he always says good things about it, can you say:

John praises his job a lot.

Does it make sense to say: praise or criticize one's job"? Please give me your opinion.

Thanks a lot.
