Does 'for' mean 'instead' in this case?

If I want to say 'During the war he was recruited for me'. Is this clear that I mean 'He went to war instead of me (he went to war, I stayed at home)'. And is there a better way to say that? Thanks in advance!

No, that is not clear at all. Use 'he was drafted in my stead' -- I think that is what you mean.

What about this sentence 'You don't need to make a decision, she will do it for you'. Does it mean here "instead of you"?

These are better suggestions. You could also say: He went to war and I did not.
