Does CORRESPOND mean MATCH??

Which would you say please, or how would you say this?

1 The 23 dollars I have here don't correspond to anything as I'm short 30,30 dollar and not 23. Where did the 23 come from?

2 You're nickname and picture doesn't correspond to the way you play. You're nickname is "generousplayer3" yet its very hard to get all your chips. You should be called "cheapplayer3".

(is correspond the right word?)

3 All the money that you get for food on your paystub doesn't correspond to the food you got per day on shift during the month you're getting paid for but the month before that. It's one month off. You get paid February incidentals at the end of March and not at the end of February.

How would you say this please? Does it make sense?

Thank you

Thank you Doctor D,

One question,

Would you yourself use CORRESPOND in the first sentence or would you use another word. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? Would you use REFER or RELATE?

Thank you

I would use "correspond" in the first sentence, yes. If you wanted to clarify that sentence, you could add information rather than simply change the verb. The 23 dollars shown here in my checkbook doesn't correspond to any of my expenditures as I'm short 30 dollars and not 23. Where did the 23 come from?

As for #3, I would probably use "refer."
