Does breast mean one nipple or two nipples?

I'm wondering if words like breasts and bosom mean just one nipple or the two round parts.
So which is correct?
1)
- I have a couple of breasts. (I have two breasts)
- I have breast. (breast means two nipples)

2)
- My bosoms are large. (I have two bosoms)
- My bosom is large (bosom means two nipples)

If they mean only one nipple, then can I say "a pair of breasts" or "a couple of bosoms" to mean the two round parts on my chest?

Top answer

On female humans, the breast is one mammary gland and the surrounding tissues. Normal females have two mammary glands, so there are two *******. The nipple is the central part, usually darker in color, which excretes milk.

Generically, the term is also used to denote the upper front torso of the human body. It can also indicate the seat of human emotion, without regard to feminine mammary glands.

That's true. Men get breast cancer, but it is rare.
Usually "chest" is used in relation to men, and "bosom" or "*******" for women. But the terms are interchangeable.

It might be worth investigating to what extent the public extends the quantifying of 'breast' to males and chickens. In the bible are references to 'he beat his breast'. To one's breast might not mean to one breast. Feel free to delete this post if it fails to be on topic.

Yesterday I actually saw a cat with 6 mammary glands.
Can I say:
A cat has 6 *******.
A cat has 6 bosoms.

When I go to the grocer's meat department, I see packaged "chicken *******." The term "breast" is the white meat of turkeys, chickens and other birds used for food. However, these animals are not mammals. I restricted my comments above
