Does anyone know what to call undefined referents.

Does any one know the name of this phenomenon highlighted in capitals

“God has revealed it to me IN SUCH A WAY that I can know it for certain."

What is it called when the means to something is left unspecified.

I'm tempted to say "way" is a pronoun here, but I also know such can be a pronoun.

Help would be appreciated.
