Does anyone know that what's the best method to learn English words and phrases?

I have both Oxford phrasal verbs and idioms. For example I select a word such as "take" and look it up in the phrasal verb dictionary then I start to read all the meaning along with their examples so as to take them in. Then, I write an example for every meaning from my own. when I finished up, I go to do the same procedure on another word.
About non-phrasal words, when I find a word in a text or movie, I look it up in the dictionary then I read all the meanings of that specific word. then I write an example for each meanings from my own.
My problem is that after a day, I cannot remember the correct meaning or cannot use those words and phrases correctly. Is there anything wrong with my method?? what's the best method? I cannot mostly remember all the meaning and what remain are just few of the meanings of a word.

You need to write 10 different examples of each meaning, and not all at once. Do it over a period of a week, and then repeat it during the next month. Once you have practiced a word or phrase 50 times or more in different contexts, and over a few month's time, then you are likely to have it fixed in your memory.

Hi.
It is very nice that you are putting considerable effort in learning English, but you are proceeding upon a tedious method. You have to learn words in contexts. Memorizing words from dictionary or any other books is not efficient. Such books should be used as a reference book, you have to refer to them when you need to know meaning of a word or a phrase.

Not wrong, exactly, but inefficient. Use the dictionaries as reference books if, for example, you come across a phrasal verb that you are unfamiliar with.

What you need is some good workbooks, and you'll have to find those in a book shop or on-line.

Keep in mind, also, that it's better to mast

I appreciate all your opinions but I think it's more slower if I try to learn just what I find in texts or movies. For example, The word "Make" has a lot of phrasal usage in different situations. If I just concentrate on one which has been used in my reading, it'll take much time to make out all of different usage of this word. Think through how much time is needed to collect all the meaning of th
