Do/Does

Is the following sentence correct?

- displaying the ratings do give users more confidence.

Or should it the "do" be replaced with "does"? I am unsure, because I want to put emphasis on the "do", and it doesn't sound wrong to me.

Hi

-displaying the ratings does give users more confidence.

Here 'does' relates to the act of displaying.

If you want to use 'do' relating to 'ratings' you would need to say something like -

-displaying the ratings as they do give users more confidence.
