Documents folder

Hi Friends!

I am giving instructions (like a computer manual).

Open this folder and then you should see a "Documents" folder.
Open this folder and then you should see the "Documents" folder.

I should add that I am mentioning this folder for the first time and it's the only one there. Do you think that either a/the is possible?

I think in the first one it says, "you should see a folder called Documents"
In the second the meaning is "you should see the Documents folder (the only one you can expect to see there)".

Makes sense? Thank you!!!

Both ways are OK. It depends on how you think the reader is thinking about it.

[ I would delete 'then'. It's not natural. ]
