Do you understand this sentence well?

Hi!
Please take look at this sentence. Do you understand it? Maybe you could give me some pointers how to improve it?

The chairperson recognizes that the allocation of name “Jimmy Arthur” and surname “XXX”, as requested in the application, is not contrary to the interests of the child, because child himself has agreed on that and his surname must be the same as his adoptive parents because they are members of one family.

“The chairperson recognizes that (the allocation of)/(allocating) the (given) name(s) “Jimmy Arthur” and surname “***”, as requested in the application, is not contrary to the interests of the child. The child himself has agreed on that/those given name(s); and his surname must be the same as his adoptive parents, because they are members of one family. Notes: “the allocation of” may be a legal requirement for the wording; but it seems more natural to say “allocating”.

  • “The chairperson recognizes that (the allocation of)/(allocating) the (given) name(s) “Jimmy Arthur” and surname “***”, as requested in the application, is not contrary to the interests of the child.
  • The child himself has agreed on that/those given name(s); and his surname must be the same as his adoptive parents, because they are members of one family.
  • Notes: “the allocation of” may be a legal requirement for the wording; but it seems more natural to say “allocating”.
  • “given” is an expression for names chosen by the parents.
  • Whether “name” or “names” is used will again depend on legal requirements; but grammatically, there are two un-hyphenated names.
