Do you think this sentence is messy?

Earlier this week I wrote an essay with a sentence: "The burden of daily expenses, such as food or accommodation are, therefore, substantially relieved" and according to my essay corrector, it was a bit 'messy'. What do you think? Does it sound natural enough?
Thank you.

Anonymous What do you think? Too many commas; your sentence is too viscous. Therefore, the burden of daily expenses such as food or accommodation is substantially relieved.
