Do you think that parents should be punished if their five year-old child commits a crime? From what age should children be held responsible for their own behaviors?

Parents'interference can heavily affect children's character and behaviors'development. Some people argue that whether parents should be punished or not if their five-year-old child gets involved in a crime. I personally think that parents shoud take responsibility for their children'unlawful deed.

First and foremost, parents should be punished due to the fact that their behaviors have a strong influence on their children. In general. numerous parents fail to set a good example for their children; they often make mistakes in behaving in daily lives such as showing violence in the face of their children. Hence, their children are likely to imitate these violent or immoral behaviors, which would do harm to a child's behavior development. That's why it is not surprising to know that many young criminals had unhappy chioldhood and felt dissastisfied with the circumstances in which they grew up.

Superficially, 18 is the age when an individual must be held responsible for their behaviors. This is the most suitable age when a person has complete awareness to control himself obeying the law. At the age of 18, an individual would have sufficient experiences, knowledges and competence for decision making and reaching moral conclusions.

In summary, parents should be castigated when their children do lawoffending activities. It is their inevitable responsibility until their children come to maturity.
