'do you think (that)'

1) What do you think you can do?

2) What do you think that you can do?

Do the two mean the same, don't they? And I have learned that 'do you think (that)' is inserted in middle but I think that we do not have to use 'insert' here and the original sentence may be 'Do you think that you can do what?' and 'What' is placed in front, mayn't it?

Thank you so much as usual and have a good day.
