Do you RESPECT the speed limit?

Is it natural to say 'respect the speed limit'? Do you say 'around or in a bend'?
People tend to respect the speed limit around/in this sharp bend. They anticipate the bend like all good driver should. They usually speed before and after the bend.

Thank you

Respect works, but we usually say obey the speed limit. Around the bend is more common than in the bend , but in the curve is more common than around the curve . Bend is more common in BrE and curve is more common in AmE.
