Do you prefer apples or oranges?

Hi,
Is the following sentence an acceptable answer? Weather its meaning or grammar.

"I, myself, show preference for apples rather than oranges."

By the way, can I use the aforementioned sentence in formal speaking or not?
Thanks for your consideration.
