Do you need "the"?

(1a) Customers don't have to pay more for extra services they need for computers.
(1b) Customers don't have to pay more for the extra services they need for computers.

(2a) You don't have to pay more for extra services you need for a computer upgrade.
(2b) You don't have to pay more for the extra services you need for a computer upgrade.

This is what my non-native English speaking friends and I think.

No "the" is needed in (1) because services are for all types of computer issues.

"the" is needed in (2) because specific services are for a computer upgrade.

What is your opinion? Thanks a lot.
