Do you need "a?"

Actually, my teaching material says that I wish I could stay here for few more days.

When you use "another," you don't need "a" as in "for another few days." However, you need "a" as in "for a few more days." That's what I understand about the usage. Do you think I can just conclude that the textbook made a typo or something, or are there any rules I don't know?

Another is made up of two parts, an and other. An is the indefinite article. I don't understand how you could think of having both a and an in one phrase. The only peculiarity about another is that it is written as one word, not

The whooper swan is indeed the national bird of Finland. The swan in my avatar is a mute swan, though. I took the picture myself on a Helsinki island. The whooper swan is common in uninhabited areas in Finland, but not in a city like Helsinki. We have anything from 60,000 to 188,000 lakes,
