Do you like Science Fiction?

I like science Fiction very much, especially those by Issac Asimov.
I love the Foundation Trilogy.
Dark Than You Think by Jack Williamson is also one of my favorite.

Do you like Science Fiction? Whose works do you like best? Please recommend them to me and we can enjoy together!

I just read Future Film Fiction, volume one, short stories, by Ian Clinton. It contains a sci-fi tale that you might like? I dont normally go for that sort of thing, but i found it quite intelligent and interesting.

Basically, there are two kinds of sci-fi books/films. One, which is virtually empty of all meaning, is packed with hundreds of robots, aliens, spaceships, FXs, etc. The other one is slightly more demanding. It poses various kinds of philosophical questions. It can also be a great mental exercise. The former category can be best illustrated by the film "Independence
Day," where the most basic

I wouldn't be so severe, but basically I agree with the guest. Go for Stanislaw Lem, you won't regret it.
Good books tell the truth, even when they're about things
that never have been and never will be. (S.Lem)

I've read a few of his books and can recommend:

'The Investigation of Eden' (superficially a crime story)
'Solaris'

Philip *** is really a writer to read - you must've seen the famous movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, I do not know the original english title, in Russian it reads "Remember All" - and also Minority Report, and many others. Of course, the scenario is a bit different, but it's not a problem - his stories are original in style and subjects. Actually my favorites are Clifford Simak and Robert Shekle

'Solaris' (the remake) was not directed by Steven Spielberg, it was directed by Stephen Soderbergh.

Fair Lady, I think the Arnold movie you are referring to is 'Total Recall.' That film was based on the Philip K. *** short story, 'We Can Remeber It for You Wholesale.' Other Philip K. *** stories that have been turned into films are 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' which was made

Yeah, sure, that's what I meant

Recently I saw the movie adapted from Issac Asimov's novel 'I, Robot'. It is an interesting movie. I don't like the movie like the Independence Day. Terminators, eh, I think it's OK, but not my favoriate kind.

0 What about Alien and Aliens? Two great films. 02br
00As for SF books, there's Alastair Reynolds and Frank Herbert. 02br
00I do read Issac Asimov, and recommend Michael Moorcock(who had his first novel published when he was seventeen). Perhapes someone could read his short novel 'Behold the Man'??? 02br
00Admittedly it's SF/Fantasy, but at least there'd be

0 I liked the book, though it was somewhat naive. Anyhow, it was written quite a long time ago (I think about 80 or more years ago), so it's natural. But I do not believe much in Spielberg-style interpretations of literature: there is too much to watch and too little to think. 0-
