Do you like desserts?

Hello everyone,

Is it okay to ask someone "Do you like desserts?"? I think I've been told that it should be "dessert" rather than "desserts", but I am not so sure about that. Does the plural sound odd to you?

Thank you.

I like the plural if you mean to ask whether they like spotted **** and sticky toffee pudding and ice cream and banoffee pie and all that. The singular sounds like you are asking whether they like having a dessert course as part of a meal.
