I strongly agree with the statement that all children should be required to learn a second language in school for two reasons.
First of all learning a second language or being able to speak more than one language is a huge advantage. Take English for example, when you travel outside of your country, you can easily speak with other people and meet all of your needs without any problems. You can make friends or you can communicate with other people easily and I think it is really important today.
Another reason is that people who can speak more than one language can improve their brain ability and it is like an exercise for brain when you speak more than one language. So, these people are less vulnerable to diseases like amnesia.
