Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Both parents should have an equal responsibility in child rearing

Raising up a child in a way that when he grows he will never depart from it. This is a responsibility of both parents. I agree to the following statement that both parents have an equal responsibility in ensuring that their children are groomed in the right manner.

First, it is the responsibility of parents to educate good morals to their offspring's. Morality is an important aspect that children should pick up from their parents. This great principle of life needs to be inculcated in children at a young age during their developmental period. This morality grows with the child into adulthood and passes it unto his next generation. For instance, my parents taught me to show respect to my elder ones and even young ones. As my father always says treat everyone as yourself, invariably meaning accord respect to everyone. This principle has been helpful in my life, at school, and at work with some different kinds of people. This was not only a work of my dad nor my mum but both contribute immensely in teaching this behavior to their children.

Second, both parents create sense of responsibility for their children. it is the duty of both parents to teach their children to be responsible for certain things at an early age. In my own experience, my mum sometimes delegates some duties to me. She puts my younger ones in my custody. This gave me the sense of carrying out some responsibility. I was able to manage some situations and making some decisions which she praised by smartness and intelligence. I believe this same principle gave me the opportunity to handle the position of a Prefect of my dormitory during my high school. It instilled in me to be shrewd and calculated.

More so, both parents have the responsibility of teaching their children to live their life's in the spiritual way. It is the work of parents to ensure their children are raised in the teachings in which they belief. For instance, the spirit of piety, my parents taught me to love God and to live a life of prayer. This indispensable virtue has helped me greatly. In addition, my parents taught their kids at an early age to always say the truth in life no matter the situation. My elder brother was promoted to a managerial level in the construction company because of the ability to profess the truth when great crisis struck his firm.

In conclusion, the act of raising up children is collaborative efforts of both parents. This is because the credit of having a well-behaved child should be accorded to both parents.
