Do we use 'a' along with plurals

Should we use a in the below sentence.

We tend to think that antibiotics are a solution to all problems.

I am bit confused as to when to use 'a' when plurals are used.
Any advice will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Yours is OK. The important concordance is between subject (antibiotics) and verb (are). The predication can be a singular concept without damaging concord.
