Do we put...?

Hi
In a simple sentence describing langaueg skill, I can speak English. An dwhat about " I can write in English VS I can write English. Is it different to put "in"?

Not to me...
I can write in English = I can write using English words
I can write English = I can write the English language
It's the same as:
I can speak English = I can express myself in that language
I'm speaking in English = I' m using English words (not Dutch!)
