At first, I thought [A] is not proper in ‘at the end,’ for it has the article, when ‘at’ is “used to say exactly where something or someone is (Longman Dictionary)” So It isn’t to have the article, as in ‘at dawn’, or ‘as in ‘at end of break’. But this has no ground, for I read this one: ‘I was waiting at the bus stop’ in Longman. Could you show me whether the examples use the article right respec-tively?

But a break can refer to a broken bone, which may be the case here, or may not - I find it impossible to say.
