Do they mean the same

Hi,

1. "You're crazy, What do you think you are doing here?"

2. "You're crazy, What on earth are you doing here?"

What's the difference in meaning between the the two sentences above? Does #2 sound more polite than #1?

Do you mean the phrase 'what on earth are you doing' doesn't imply that why are you doing this thing that you should obviously not be doing?

Does 'what on earth' just imply surprise?

Can 'what on earth are you doing' imply that 'why are you doing this thing that you should obviously not be doing' in some situations? I still didn't get any answer to it.
