Do these two sentences have similar meanings?

Hi teachers,
Do they sound natural? Could you give another one for 'a'? What could a good antonym be for 'lost' in this case? Could they be 'keep' and 'mantain'?
a) You should remember that Tim Scott lost his job after he ran into a police car.
b) You should remember that Tim Scott no longer has his job after he ran into a police car.

Thanks in advance.

Thinking Spain Do they sound natural? Yes. But the second one seems just a little unusual because "no longer has" (present) occurs with "after he ran" ( after -clause with the past).
