Do these two sentence have different meanings??

"I show my thanks only on Mother's Day" and "I only show my thanks on Mother's Day". I know that the second can refer to that "On Mother's Day, the only thing I do is show my thanks." But I guess some native speakers of English think the second sentence can refer to the meaning of the first sentence. Am I right??
