Do these sound right?

1) I better get a move on.

2) I really did not even like that movie.

Top answer

These are both idiomatic. The first was a common expression of my mother's in the 40's - except it was usually I who was behooved to get the move on. More correctly, it was "I had better get a move on," or, contracted, "I'd better get a move on"; but the "had" was frequently dropped in rapid, casual conversation.
