Can you give me a clear line between these two as below? Not completely clear, but here are a few thoughts.

- I like who you are I'm thinking of you as a person.

eg You're a kind person.

eg You're a person who has morals.

eg You're an excellent brain surgeon.

- I like what you are I'm thinking of your qualities.

eg You are kind.

eg You are moral.

eg You are skilled in brain surgery.

As you can see, there can be a lot of overlap here.

Here is another thought of '' I like the way you are'', which i think would be smiliar to '' who you are '' rather than '' what you are'' in meaning.

Am i correct?
