Can I say:

1. In the office his job is to do the paper cutting. (Does this mean that he cuts important news articles out of the paper?)

2. Have you finished doing the paper cutting?

From the sentence, I have no way of knowing that he has to cut out important news articles from the paper. I would need more information. As it is, I understand that his job is to cut paper - it is not clear what kind of paper he has to cut.
