"do" or "go" with activities

Hello! Could you help me, please?

When should we use "do" and "go" with activities (not only sports)? And can we use them both depending on situation or the rule is strict ("do" is used with this and "go" is used with that)? As I understood "do" is used when we mean a hobby, and "go" - when we mean we go somewhere to do this. Am I right? Thank you!

For example:

I do shopping.
I go shopping.

I do riding.
I go riding.

I do jogging.
I go jogging.

I do cooking.
I go cooking.
