Do Not Read This Sentence!

Language is the realm of possibilities as well as impossibilities. Take a look at the subject of my discussion. This can only happen in language. I think language has made our world a more interesting place. A world without language means only dealing with the concrete things we come accross in our lives. Can you imagine our world without language? Can you think of comtemplation without language?
Now my questions is, does the existance of more abstract words in a language mean that the people who speak it are more intellectual?

People who know more words and more complicated words are often those who have had more education. This makes them more intellectual but not necessarily more intelligent. Well - that is my opinion if you wanted it.

There are many books about Sociolinguistics that you could look at that address these sorts of issues. It is a while since I studied this but the books that I found very usefule were :-

and

Language and Power - Normal Fairclough
