Do sentence 1 ans 2 satisfy the rule of parallel structure?

Sentence1:
The aim of doing this was to ensure that every teammate was happy with their tasks and enjoyed working together towards our common goal.

Sentence2:

I never answer, because I am not confident in my English and I don't want to say something incorrect.

However, in my post, i would always make sure that my questions are clear and provide necessary background.
