Do I need "had"?!

I was asked to correct something and I'm suffering a total brain freeze.

I would like to introduce Ms. X, who had been working for us until March X.

Now, I want to correct it as: I would like to introduce Ms. X, who had worked for us until March X.

But isn't it fine/better without had?

Sorry for the dumb question! And thank you in advance!

I have a vocabulary in use book and from what I checked, both are correct gramatically, slight differences in meanings in case the first is continues and the second not.

Hi,

Without any further context, there is no need here to use Past Perfect. Just use Simple Past.
